YouFon is an Internet phone that allows anyone to make free-of-charge calls while the personal computer or telephone is connected to the Internet. You can enjoy calls to family, friends, or colleagues.

*Calls from YouFon to the normal telephone circuit are impossible. The following guide explains how to make calls between people who have registered YouFon accounts.
*After registering a YouFon account, you can make completely free-of-charge calls; however, after dialing, an audio advertisement may be heard while the call is being connected.

YouFon calls can be made from various telephone terminals and personal computers

SIP or IP phones using IAX
(Connect the Internet access line directly to an IP phone so it can be used.)
Household fixed-line phones / cordless phones
(An adaptor, called an ATA, can be conveniently connected to the telephone.)
WiFi SIP phone or IP phone using IAX
(Connects to the Internet via WiFi access point.)
WiFi cell phone
(Connects to the Internet via WiFi access point.)
SIP used through a personal computer or IAX Softphones
(Install the software and set up YouFon numbers.)

Registering a YouFon account is very easy! After registering an account, two YouFon numbers will be issued free of charge, and immediately, your exclusive Internet telephone is ready to use.

At first, YouFon will issue two YouFon numbers. You can test your numbers by yourself, and then you can give one of the numbers to a friend or relative to make an exclusive YouFon telephone “hot line.”.
Similarly, you may input one of your YouFon numbers to an IP phone and input the other number to a WiFi NOKIA E61 mobile phone, so you can use both phones free of charge.
You can set up your YouFon numbers on any kind of telephone terminal so you can make calls when you are overseas, the same as when you are in Japan.

With “YouFonPocket” you can use your homepage or weblog as a free-of-charge telephone terminal. You can talk to someone through your weblog or add free-of-charge telephone functions to your homepage. (This service is in the development stage.)

At present, the number of homepages, including blogs, is said to be some billions of pages all over the world. YouFon Pocket is an epoch-making tool with which you can add telephone functions to these homepages and blogs. Whether you are in the office or at a hotel on business abroad, if you have a computer and open your blog or home page, you can make free-of-charge calls to family or friends with YouFon.
The name “YouFonPocket” is from the idea that there is a pocket where you can put a telephone in your homepage or blog. We are now developing it for use as an iGoogle accessory in the future, hoping to meet your expectations.
